We are excited to announce the first investment by the Jenson SEIS and EIS Fund 3 into the Incredible Bakery Company Limited (“IBC”). IBC is a bakery manufacturer that produces high quality products without using traditional bakery ingredients or animal products. All products made by IBC are free from gluten, dairy, eggs and soya and are vegan. Additionally all products are made without using any of the 14 common food allergens as described by EC regulations.
We are delighted that IBC has already scooped the big prize at the national Baking Industry Awards held on 9th September. The event, held at a packed London Park Lane Hilton saw the entire UK bakery industry attend and IBC was named winner in the ‘Freefrom Bakery Product of the Year’ category with the Incredible Onion Panini. The industry has formally recognised the remarkable genesis of IBC which began in response to a highly complex family food allergy problem. Director Valeria Mizuno-Turner saluted the hard work that led to this amazing accolade. ‘For such a young company to take this prize is an unprecedented achievement. Now the company has ambitious plans for global expansion in order take the position of brand leader in this relatively new food category. In partnership with Jenson Solutions this goal is inevitable.’
IBC was founded in 2013 in response to the discovery that the son of married couple, James Turner and Valeria Mizuno-Turner was suffering from multiple food allergies. Valeria Mizuno-Turner and James Turner created a craft bakery to take advantage of a clear gap in the market for free from bakery products that have an easily recognisable, superior nutritional profile and outstanding taste.
Valeria Mizuno-Turner is Co-Founder / Managing Director. Valeria has a passion for food and has successfully created all the recipes, all the breads and cakes produced by IBC. She drives the production, new product development and has a keen eye for innovation.
James Turner is Co-Founder / Managing Director. James has a solid clerical background and is a master of all office trades. He uses his experience, working in the City of London, to ensure that all finance and sales related tasks are completed and looks after all administrative aspects of the company.
